On Common Grounds

Simple things in life make our daily journey less challenging: a cup of coffee, time with neighbors and visitors, and a chance to lift those in need.
Beginning on Sunday, December 9 and continuing Sundays through the end of January, Pamlico Rose Institute for Sustainable Communities, joined by Eagles Wings, Open Door Community Center, Red Cross of Eastern North Carolina, and other community-based service groups, will operate a coffee experience called On Common Grounds. The host is THE CONTEMPORARY ART EXCHANGE at 127 E. Main Street. From 7am to noon, the gallery will transform into a neighborhood coffee shop.
Our beverage selection will be brewed coffee, hot teas, and cocoa. Pastries and snacks will vary. There will be no charge for the coffee and pastries, but donations are encouraged and gratefully accepted. ALL proceeds will go to the featured community-based non-profit of the day.
Baristas are volunteers from participating non-profits. Every Sunday, we will provide the amount raised the previous week.
Healthy, safe, and resilient communities require effort. On Common Grounds is a great place to start. Come by to savor hot coffee and enjoy warm company, while contributing to those in need.

9th Annual Jolly Skull Beer and Wine Festival @ Greenville Convention Center

Greenville, North Carolina will be hosting their ninth annual beer and wine festival at the Greenville Convention Center on January 26, 2019. This 41,000 square foot venue is a first class, state of the art building located at 303 SW Greenville Blvd, Greenville, NC 27834. The festival will focus on 50+ American craft micro breweries and wineries with over 125 beers and wines being offered. The Jolly Skull Beer and Wine Festival will also feature live music, silent auction and other fun things to do.

There will only be one tasting session with two tickets options. The VIP ticket is $50 and will give you admission from 12 – 5 PM. The General Admission ticket is $35 and will give you admission from 1:30 – 5 PM. The VIP and GA ticket includes unlimited sampling of all products offered and a tasting glass but ONLY the VIP ticket includes a special limited edition full size collectors glass that features the Jolly Skull and Bravo Alpha logos in color (available until the end of the VIP session). There will only be 500 VIP and 3000 total tickets sold. This event will sell out so ensure you get your tickets as soon as they go on sale. Ticket sales will start at 8 AM on Saturday, 20 October 2018.

There will be NO designated Driver tickets available for this event–this was a tough decision, but we have had too many issues in the past that open us up for liability. We will be working with several ride-sharing and taxi companies to make sure you get to and from the event safely.

All proceeds go to benefit the Bravo Alpha Foundation and we hope that you can join us for this exciting event!

Touch A Tractor provides an opportunity for kids to see and touch their favorite farm machinery- tractors, combine, grain trucks, antique tractors and other farm machines! Come out and meet our family farmers and learn about the machinery and technology used on farms. Touch A Tractor is a family friendly event, perfect for all ages! We will also be having a silent auction. And of course the train will be running and the animals will be looking forward to a visit. We will have a concessions open.
